i'm from carisle,pa and i collect avon men's and women's fragrance lines. when i was browsing this web site
and i happened to ran across the photo the avon pin. what it was this silver pin with aqua enamel on it is a identification pin to be given to all avon representatives for id. this pin was made in 1938-45 you can find it on page 498 in the bud hastin book on avon collecting 17th ed, hope this will help...k heintz

Update: From the Hastin's Collectible Encyclopedia p. 498 there are 2 versions of the pin which was given to Reps between 1938 – 1945. The silver with aqua enamel pin was given to all Reps for identification. It says "Avon Products, Inc., Avon" on the face of the pin. According to the Hastin's book, the value of this pin is $30 if it is in mint condition. The other pin is very similar. It was gold plated with aqua enamel and was given for $250 in sales. It says "Avon Products, Inc., Avon Honor" on the face of the pin. According to the Hastin's book, the value of this pin is $35 if it is in mint condition.
